Teaching Communication Skills: Successful Communication Starts in the Classroom

Paula Hanna

Communication on any level requires both language ability and a number of interactive skills in order to be successful and the classroom is the ideal place to build the learners’ knowledge of these skill areas and to create opportunities for practice. Extending the depth of focus on Speaking & Listening in the classroom ensures better ability for learners to communicate outside. This session looks at skills-based teaching and examines where teacher training and development can help teachers to integrate this methodology with more traditional practices.
