Angela Ffrench

ANGELA FFRENCH is an education professional with 40 years of experience, first as a teacher in the public and private sectors, and since 1991 with Cambridge English Language Assessment. Since joining Cambridge English, she has been involved in all aspects of assessment at CEFR Levels pre-A1 to C2 including developing and administering tests and assessment criteria, training of item writers and examiners, pretesting and analysing test material, and in the grading of examinations. Prior to her role as Director of Operations in South & South East Asia, Mrs ffrench was responsible for the Cambridge ESOL Young Learner English tests and IELTS. Her special interest in the testing of Speaking led to her being involved in the development of computer based assessments for speaking, advising on standards in language competence for the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and establishing standards in spoken language competence across the five major European languages. She has an MEd in Educational Assessment, Testing and Measurement from the University of Bristol, an MA in Educational Assessment from the University of Cambridge, and has published and presented on a range of topics relating to assessment.
