Andy Curtis

Andy Curtis is the Director of the English Language Teaching Unit at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the Faculty of Education at CUHK. Dr Curtis received his MA in Applied Linguistics and his PhD in International Education from the University of York, England in 1996. In 2006, Dr Curtis co-edited with Mary Romney Colour, Race and English Language Teaching: Shades of meaning (Lawrence Erlbaum), and in 2004 he co-edited, with Liying Cheng and Josh Watanabe Washback in Language Testing: Research contexts and methods (Lawrence Erlbaum). In 2001, with Kathi Bailey and David Nunan, he co-authored Pursuing professional development: The self as source (Thomson Heinle). Dr Curtis has worked with language educators in Europe, Asia, North, South and Central America. His research interests include language program development with a focus on management and leadership in educational settings.
