Ian Walkinshaw

Ian Walkinshaw has been involved in English language teaching at various levels for 17 years and has taught in Japan, Vietnam, New Zealand, Britain and Australia.  He has a PhD in applied linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington.  He has published and given conference papers in the fields of ELT methodology, interlanguage pragmatics, politeness theory and English as an international language, and is the author of Learning Politeness: Disagreement in a Second Language (2009, Peter Lang).  Ian is a lecturer in English at the School of Languages and Linguistics at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.
