Carolyn Henner Stanchina has taught EFL, ESL, Academic Reading and Writing, Critical Thinking, History and French to adults, college, pre-college, and high school students, while also teaching Methods and Practicum courses at CUNY, and participating in professional development projects in the United States and abroad.
She has co-authored Grammar Dimensions, Book I, published many journal articles on teaching and learning, and designed curriculum for high school and college students.
During her years at LaGuardia Community College’s College Now program, she developed courses and programs to help students bridge the gap from high school to college. At LaGuardia’s Center for Teaching and Learning, she worked with teams providing professional development to LaGuardia faculty as well as faculty from 30 NYC area colleges.
The unifying thread in her work has been a consistent focus on and inquiry into learning: student learning, teacher learning, and reflective practice.
