Mobile assisted language learning in vietnam: How ready are learners to learn on the move?

Nguyen Ngoc Vu

The increased availability and lowered cost of mobile devices in recent years has seen many students coming to language classrooms with smartphones or iPads. This paper reports a project in which lecturers at HCMC University of Education explored the use of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) practices to support several teacher training courses. The presentation demonstrates how different tools in MOODLE can be used to support English language skills, especially production skills like speaking and writing. Besides, sever logs of student activities, journals and reflections are analyzed to find out how MALL supports students’ language learning. With research-based evidence, this presentation aims to share practical ideas for using MOODLE tools in education.
