Digital story-telling: using technology to support a constructionist view of learning
Story-telling has been an integral part of the young learner classroom for many years.Stories are the way we connect with each other, the way we learn from each other, the way we express ourselves to each other
Stories help children make sense of the world around them and share that understanding with others. In this world of teaching digital natives, and with so many new web tools available, it seems only natural to bridge the gap between technology and this age-old tradition of story-telling, making it easier for learners to create, build, and articulate their stories - developing their knowledge in the process. This workshop will explore how teachers can use digital stories as a means of enabling young learners to collaborate, communicate and connect in an engaging and motivating way. It will provide practical tips and suggestions on how and why technology should be used to enhance this oldest of literary forms.
