ACTIVATING YOUNG LEANERS WITH SIMPLE ENERGIZERS
Young learners are supposed
to be very active and energetic, and thus having their concentration during a
lesson or activity is not always possible. However, young learners, for some
reasons, could be passive, inattentive or reluctantly engaged in activities.
The teacher, therefore, needs to wake them up or gets them talk and
productively engaged in the lesson. Energizers, in this case, could be the best
way for teachers to wake young learners up and focus on the lesson that the
teacher will start. This workshop will not only elaborate the reasons why
teachers should bring energizers into classroom but also show the workshop
participants some simple energizers that the teachers can
use to work equally well with the young children even at their
tables or desks, circled up, or waiting in line to attract
all students’ attention and activate them for the new lesson.
